Welcome to the Hartford Firefighters' Association

The Hartford Firefighters Association, I.A.F.F. Local 760, represents the uniformed members of the City of Hartford Fire Department in Hartford, CT.  Organized in 1943, the Hartford Firefighters' Association is dedicated to the protection of it's members safety, rights and benefits.  The Hartford Firefighters' Association is comprised of the 370 professional firefighters that work for the City of Hartford Fire Department.  The Hartford Firefighters Association is an affiliate of the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF Local 760), and member of the Uniformed Professional Firefighters Association of Connecticut.

FDNY LODD - Lt. Gordon Ambelas

The Officers and Members of the Hartford Fire Fighters Association extend our sincere condolences to our Brother and Sister Firefighters of  FDNY and their Families as they grieve the loss of Lt. Gordon M. Ambelas.  Our Brother and Sister Firefighters from FDNY suffered the loss of Lt. Gordon M. Ambelas of Ladder 119.  Lt. Ambelas, 40, was searching for trapped occupants in a 19th floor apartment at 75 Wilson St., when the fire flashed over and trapped him in a bedroom. He was found unconscious by fellow firefighters who removed him from the apartment and attempted to resuscitate him, along with EMS personnel. He was transported in critical condition to Woodhull Medical Center, where he later died. Lt. Ambelas, who lived on Staten Island, is survived by his wife, Nanette, and their two children.

The Officers and Members of the Hartford Fire Fighters Association extend our sincere condolences to our Brother and Sister Firefighters, as well as their families, of the New Britain Fire Department.  They lost Deputy Chief David Fiori to a Line of Duty Death on May 26, 2014.  Deputy Chief Fiori was a 36 year veteran of the New Britain Fire Department.  Our thoughts and prayers are with our Brother and Sister Firefighters as they grieve this tragic loss.

11th Annual Kureczka Golf Tournament

Dear Brother and Sister Firefighters:

 

On Monday, September 15th, 2014,   the Hartford Firefighters Association will be holding the 11th Annual Ed Kureczka Memorial Golf Tournament.  The proceeds from this tournament will again be placed into the Hartford Firefighter’s Survivors Fund, a 501(c)3 Public Charity.  This fund will allow us to provide support to the families of future fallen firefighters.

 

The details for this year’s tournament are as follows:

 

          Date:                    Sept 15, 2014

Time:          9am Registration, 11 am Shot Gun Start

Location:    Stanley Golf Course, New Britain, CT

 

 

For this event to be successful it needs the support of the membership of Local 760.  We need people to obtain sponsorships, foursomes and raffle prizes for this event.  Various positions on the day of the event will also need to be staffed.  If you are able to assist in any way please contact me at 860-614-5473 or send an e-mail to survivorsfund@hartfordfire.org

Boston LODD Funeral and Fund Info

On March 26, 2014 the Boston Fire Fighters suffered the Line of Duty deaths of Brothers Edward J. Walsh of Engine 33 and Michael R. Kennedy of Ladder 15. The Members of the Hartford Fire Fighters Association extend our sincere condolences to the families of Brothers Walsh and Kennedy and to the Boston Firefighters Local 718.
